Located on north-west coast of stunning Camiguin Island, this beach front eco dive resort offers a multi-activity experience for guests
The dream of German dive master couple Gabriel and Sabine, Volcano Beach Resort became a reality in 2012. The resort offers a rewarding and home-away-from-home experience with diverse activities to enjoy, from spa treatments to hiking and above all, diving! Camaguin Island's volcanic character makes its landscape and waters unique and both terrestrial and marine environments are still in good shape.
There's a choice of five rooms types with sea or jungle views, some designed as private bungalow villas, in a traditional style with bamboo and local wood. Rooms include mosquito nets, walk-in showers, fans, WiFi, and can accommodate up to three people. Superior room grades offer air conditioning.
Volcan Lodge has its own house reef to enjoy and numerous dive sites around the island including Mantique Nature Park, which features stunning white beaches and shallow reefs that are ideal for snorkelling. In addition to diving, guests can hike across the island to explore the springs and waterfalls before returning for a well-earned spa treatment and aromatherapy massage.
The building of the resort ensures that no terrain was altered and no trees cut down; all structures were built using local materials - mainly bamboo - by local workers and craftsmen from Camiguin. Instead of using chemicals against bugs, the bamboo was bathed for long periods in sea water. All rooms are equipped with energy saving technology and septic tanks to process waste water. The resort has a coral conservation programme for breeding corals, plus, all food ingredients are sourced directly from local farmers.
