National Forum of Coastal Regents in Coral Triangle Area - Singaraja, Bali 09/Jun/2014 - 10/Jun/2014 The meeting is expected to produce a joint declaration for the improvement and strengthening of the role of local governments in implementing the CTI-CFF NPOA. They would seek to form an Association of leaders that would concentrate on the communication and outreach needs of marine programs and the conservation of coral reefs and their associated marine ecosystems. This forum is intended as an opportunity to develop implementation plans for CTI-CFF at each location for the participants in order to achieve the goals of the National Plan of Action. The activity is called: National Forum of Coastal Regents in Coral Triangle area, with the theme of "Optimizing the Role of Local Governments in Implementing CTI Plans of Action at the National Level (National Plan of Action, NPOA)". This activity will consist of 2 (two) main events: 1. A Seminar/ Workshop on the role of local government in implementing activities to achieve the CTI-CFF National Plan of Action. 2. A Field Trip to the marine fisheries, aquaculture and tourism centers in the district of Buleleng. The participants of the meeting are; - Regents / Mayors from across the Coastal Districts in Indonesia within the Coral Triangle Region; - the Ministry of Home Affairs; - the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries; - the Ministry of Forestry; - the Ministry of Environment; - Department of Marine Fisheries / SKPD in charge of marine affairs and fisheries from all regions in Indonesia Coastal District within the Coral Triangle Region; - Secretariat of the NCC CTI-CFF; - Secretariat of Regional CTI-CFF; - Partners and NGOs; and - Private Sector Representatives Organizers: Ministry of Internal Affairs, Directorate of Coastal Development, Local Government of Buleleng, NCC Indonesia, and CI Indonesia.

Coral Triangle Day Celebration - Dili 09/Jun/2014 75 children from Tasi-Tolu Primary School and 5 teachers will participate in a beach clean-up. 50 government staff from the secretary of state of fisheries will also attend. The programs in this event will be a beach clean-up, as well as a diving programme to clean the litter from the reef. Following these activities CI-TL will provide morning tea to participants. CI-TL has printed tee-shirts and stickers with CTI, CI an TL goverment logo on them to distribute to participants. All of the CI staff will participate in this event. The event is sponsored by CI-TL.
