Here's a stunner from our friends over at Bird's Head Seascape. Coral polyps up close, looking like an organic mosaic...amazing to think these are actually animals, maintaining a symbiotic relationship with dinoflagellates, a type of microbe that lives inside the coral’s tissue where it photosynthesises, passing sugar to its host.
